Welcome to Carl Church Bird Taxidermy

Carl Church an International award winning bird taxidermist. This website is my portfolio of bird taxidermy from simple mounts to one off exclusive work. Been a bird specialist taxidermist my work not only shows breath taking birds but excellent composition, vibrant lifelike ground work and an amazing all over accuracy for detail.

All the birds I use are legally and ethically obtained with around 60% are road traffic deaths, 15% are killed flying into windows with the remaining 25% are birds which die in captivity. All relevant documentation accompanies each bird about its origin and authenticity.

I do not give valuations on old or other taxidermy.

One-To-One Bird Taxidermy Training Courses

My bird taxidermy training courses are from one day demonstration days for the amateur to three day tailor professional courses. All training days are one to one with all materials supplied unless stated in the tailor made days, based in my modern, comfortable workshop in North Yorkshire. Training days are held all year round and dates are confirmed with each student.

I recommend to anyone think of attending my courses or just curious on my bird taxidermy techniques that they download a copy of my book Bird Taxidermy The Basic Manual this will give you the basic start that you need. This down load includes an extra chapter from the printed mammal about working with commercial forms with over 420 colour photos, easy to understand text and lists of all the tools and materials you need. Although I have used a falcon in this manual, this method will work with any sized bird from small song birds to the largest of the vultures.
