I have written articles for many books, magazines and website over the years. I am very proud to have two of my articles publish in Breakthrough magazine. The article I have written in the falconer's magazine is about how to store carcass one think I am often asked about. In 2012 I stared writing a article for breakthrough magazine on mounting a bird form start to finish but as this started to run away with me it became my book Bird Taxidermy the basic manual which I am very proud of.
After nineteen years practising bird taxidermy and trying many different methods and materials this manual shows the method I have developed. Showing a practical and basic approach with over four hundred detailed photographs will give you a confident start. This manual shows mounting a bird from start to finish while alongside building an armature showing an easy to understand modern style of taxidermy.

Keith Pickering produces exquisite hand-made walking sticks which are both decorative and functional. Birds, fish and animals are the usual subjects, hand carved in native hardwoods, mounted on finest hazel shanks cut from the ancient woodlands around Helmsley in North Yorkshire. Dogs, cats and horses are a speciality, carved and painted in the likeness of your own favourite animal (send photos). Thumb sticks, hiking sticks and plain walking sticks are kept in stock or made to order.
